Eminem at Wireless Festival?

After first believing that Eminem would be performing at the Wireless Festival back in December, rumours are really starting to circulate.

The Wireless Festival is a 3 day event which has a different headlining act each day. On the 4th July Jay-Z headlines the sold out festival in Hyde Park, London.

Eminem has not been announced to perform (and he remained tight-lipped about performing in the UK on Jonathon Ross) yet his band D12 are performing on one of the stages on that Sunday. What surprised me is that on Jonathon Ross, Eminem acted as if he wasn't performing in the UK at all, when actually 5 days after Wireless he is headlining 'T in The Park' in Scotland.

The rumour that is picking up steam is that he didn't want to be announced on the Wireless lineup because it takes place at the same time as the Gay Pride March in London and didn't want protesting outside his hotel. Apparently the organisers didn't mind not announcing him as a performer because they knew they would sell all of the tickets (which they have done).

For anyone that is going to Wireless, we can only hope. The last time he performed in the UK at a big event was back in 2001 (he made an appearance at the o2 Academy Islington in 2004). One thing is for certain though, if he does appear on stage with D12 or Jay-Z it will be a moment to savor, Eminem truly is the one of the best rappers to ever do it. He's been missed.
